graefe’s craftsmanship helps achieve ‘sexy’ hotel in the heart of more london

Appointed as architect and designer, award winning Jestico + Whiles, has achieved its remit in what The Hilton’s Alex Carre describes as a ‘sexy hotel’.

Situated in the heart of Foster & Partners’ 13 acre More London master plan, the 250 room Hilton Hotel forms the backdrop of the main public square.

It is predicted that 70% of More London’s hotel occupancy will be utilised by guests from neighbouring corporate businesses.

This is reflected in the highly contemporary design of the exterior and, in particular, the interior of the building and the extensive business facilities which are exemplified by the executive sky lounge with long views of the Thames.

Throughout the hotel, Graefe manufactured and supplied real wood veneer panelling of random matched Crown Cut European Oak, laid horizontally, which with modern, stainless steel fittings, exudes high-end quality and design.

The same technique and veneer was applied with stunning effect to double doors and frames with high over panelling to give the illusion of double height.

Graefe’s craftwork and veneers were used extensively on this project producing an array of panels and doors of dark stained Oak and the lighter Limed Oak.

Producing premium real wood veneer products since 1837, Graefe's skilled craftsmanship and use of the highest quality raw materials has earned them a reputation for unrivalled quality and distinguished them from the mass producers.
