frames
Our frames can be manufactured to suit a full range of fire and acoustic performances to compliment our doors. Acoustic, intumescent and smoke seals are incorporated to achieve the required performance rating.
We produce an extensive range of frames that can be manufactured to architectural designs or to Graefe's recommended profiles.
Manufacture of frames
- Solid timber sanded to size
- Cut and machined to frame section
- Frame assembled
- Finishing i.e. lacquer, paint etc.
- Final inspection and packaging
Frame materials
Typically, Graefe manufacture frames from hardwood. The timber species will be the same as the veneer on doors or a close match where solid hardwood is not available. Paint and laminate doors would typically use tulipwood for non fire rated and FD30. FD60 frames will be in beech due to the higher density requirement. Softwood frames can be used as an economical alternative to hardwood for frames no greater than FD30.
Finishes
Frames can be supplied with full factory polish, primed for site finishing and full factory paint.
